Information Collection and Use
The Application collects certain information when you download and use it. This includes personally identifiable information you provide when creating an account, such as your name, email address, age, and gender. This information is stored securely and used to personalise your experience, manage your account, and provide the services you request.
We also collect non-personally identifiable information automatically, such as your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, the pages or screens you visit within the Application, the time and date of your visit, the duration of time spent on those pages, and information about your mobile device and operating system.
When you opt in to push notifications, we collect and store a device-specific notification token to deliver notifications to your device. This token is associated with your account and includes technical information such as your device platform and app version. We also store token status information (for example, enabled or disabled) to support device-specific notification preferences.
If you enable daily reminders, we also schedule local reminder notifications on your device and store your selected reminder time in your account so it can sync across your devices.
We also store the last time your account opened the Application (timestamp) to generate daily engagement metrics and improve product performance.
The Application does not collect precise GPS location data.
Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services to help us operate the Application, provide subscription billing, store your data securely, deliver notifications, and analyse performance. These services have their own privacy policies governing the use of your information. The Application uses:
- Expo
- RevenueCat
- Firebase, including Firestore, Firebase Authentication, Firebase Functions, Firebase Storage, and Firebase Cloud Messaging
- Google Sign-In
- Apple Sign-In
- Expo Notifications
- OneSignal
Firebase services, including Firebase Cloud Messaging, may also collect aggregated, anonymised analytics and delivery reports to help us monitor performance, detect bugs, and improve the Application.
These services may process data on our behalf in order to provide authentication, analytics, cloud storage, push notifications, subscription management, and other app functionality.
We use OneSignal to send marketing emails to users and measure engagement (for example, deliveries, opens, and link clicks) to improve our communications.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to create and manage your account; authenticate and secure your access to the Application through Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In; sync your reading progress and story unlocks across devices; deliver your subscription benefits and manage billing; send push notifications about new stories, series announcements, personalized content recommendations, special promotions, and important account-related information via Expo Notifications and Firebase Cloud Messaging (you can control notification preferences both in your device settings and within the Application's settings); send marketing emails via OneSignal (you can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email); monitor and improve app performance; calculate aggregate daily login trends using app-open timestamps (for example, total app logins today); provide customer support and respond to enquiries; and send important updates and service-related notifications if you have consented to receive them.
We do not sell your information to third parties. We may share it only with trusted service providers who operate on our behalf, and only as necessary to provide the services you use. Your information is never shared without your consent unless required by law.
Data Retention
We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the service. If you wish to delete your account, you can request deletion through the Application or by contacting us at contact@rawaatales.com. We will delete or anonymise your information where required, subject to legal, regulatory, fraud-prevention, accounting, and legitimate operational retention obligations, including retention by our third-party service providers under their own policies.
Children's Privacy
The Application is intended for use by families and may be accessed by children under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 years of age without parental consent. If we become aware that such information has been provided without consent, we will delete it promptly. Parents can contact us at contact@rawaatales.com to request removal of their child's data.
Security
We take appropriate physical, electronic, and procedural measures to safeguard your information against loss, theft, and unauthorised access.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy regularly. Continued use of the Application after changes indicates your acceptance of the updated terms.
